Details of the Job/Internship
Aramya is hiring for the position of Compliance and Legal Manager with 3-4 years of experience to join their office in Gurugram.
Role and Responsibilities
- Regulatory & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, including labour laws, GST, consumer protection, environmental regulations, and retail-specific requirements.
- Oversee PAN-India offline store registrations and related compliance processes.
- Stay updated with evolving legal and regulatory landscapes; revise internal policies and SOPs accordingly.
- Manage e-commerce platform compliance, including disclaimers, policies, and digital transaction standards.
- Supply Chain & Vendor Governance
- Monitor vendor and manufacturing partner compliance with labour, sourcing, and ethical standards.
- Lead or coordinate periodic compliance audits and sustainability assessments across supply chain partners.
- E-commerce, Advertising & Data Privacy
- Ensure adherence to digital laws and data privacy regulations (including customer data protection and consent mechanisms).
- Review marketing, influencer, and advertising campaigns for legal compliance with ASCI, consumer rights, and digital commerce rules.
- Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Develop and enforce internal compliance checklists, SOPs, and governance protocols.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigatory strategies to reduce regulatory exposure.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain thorough and organized documentation of all compliance activities, including audit reports, risk assessments, and legal correspondence.
- Prepare and present periodic reports on compliance status and key legal risks to leadership.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Company Secretary, or a related legal/compliance discipline. (Compliance/Audit certification is a plus.)
- 3–4 years of hands-on experience in a legal or compliance role, ideally in a high-growth startup, e-commerce, FMCG, or fashion/apparel brand.
- Solid understanding of India’s regulatory framework across retail, labour, digital commerce, and data privacy.
- Experience dealing with PAN-India regulatory bodies and vendor ecosystems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills — able to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, legal counsel, and regulators.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and solution-focused with a strong sense of ownership.
