upGrad is hiring for the position of Compliance & Litigation to join their office in Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

Compliance & Risk Management

• Provide end-to-end legal and compliance support across the organization.
• Conduct legal audits, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards.

Litigation & Legal Communication

• Draft and respond to legal notices, government communications, and statutory queries.
• Oversee and coordinate with external counsel on ongoing litigation, including consumer and commercial disputes.
• Review pleadings, legal documentation, and court filings.

Strategic Legal Advisory

• Advise on legal implications of new business initiatives, partnerships, and product rollouts.
• Evaluate the legal feasibility of business models and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Review advertising, marketing campaigns, and content for legal and ethical compliance.
• Guide the organization on evolving data protection, privacy, and digital laws.

Technical Compliance & Business Advisory

• Interpret and apply technical legal frameworks, including T&Cs, privacy policies, and online user agreements.
• Support digital marketing compliance, data governance, and consent management.
• Engage with business teams to interrogate and guide business strategy from a legal lens.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; LLM preferred.
• Significant post-qualification experience in a corporate legal environment.
• Expertise in IT Act, data protection laws, consumer protection, and corporate law.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with sharp attention to legal risk and detail.
• Ability to manage complex legal matters independently.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and a solution-oriented approach.

Salary/Stipend
