Details of the Job/Internship

Medifit Consultants Pvt. Ltd. is hiring for the position of Compliance Manager with 10+ years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru. 

Role and Responsibilities

1. Compliance Program Management:

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of the compliance framework, with a focus on data governance and AI-related policies and regulations.
• Oversee the long-term accountability for the compliance program, particularly within digital, AI, or technology domains.
• Develop and execute strategic compliance plans, aligning them with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

2. Regulatory Monitoring & Analysis:

• Stay abreast of regulatory trends in data governance and AI, including EU AI regulations and digital packages.
• Assess the impact of regulatory changes and provide practical, results-oriented recommendations.
• Synthesize complex legal analyses into clear, actionable guidance for internal stakeholders.

3. Relationship Building:

• Develop and maintain a network of professional relationships with external experts, regulators, and industry peers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align compliance objectives with company policies and business strategies.

4. Communication & Training:

• Provide training to staff on compliance topics, emphasizing data privacy, labor laws, and AI regulations.
• Communicate complex legal issues in a clear, concise manner to senior management and employees.

5. Legal & Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure strict adherence to applicable labor laws, including the Contract Labour Act, Factory Act, PF, ESIC, LWF, Gratuity, and P Tax.
• Maintain statutory registers under various labor laws, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
• Monitor legal and regulatory trends, translating them into actionable compliance requirements.

6. Risk Management:

• Identify, assess, and mitigate potential compliance risks, with a focus on data governance and AI-related policies.
• Develop risk management strategies to proactively address emerging regulatory challenges.

Eligibility

• Educational Qualifications: JD, LLB, or equivalent law degree OR Master’s in Business Informatics, Data Science, Information Management, or related fields.
• Certifications: Certifications in data privacy, governance, audit, AI, or information security are a plus.
• Work Experience:
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a global compliance/governance role, ideally within a law firm or multinational corporation.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing compliance teams.
• Extensive knowledge of data governance principles, frameworks, and strategies.
• Demonstrated experience in regulatory monitoring and translating regulations into actionable compliance plans.
• Skills & Attributes:
• Strong command of Indian labor laws, including PF, ESIC, and Gratuity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Proven track record of building professional relationships with regulators and stakeholders.
• Strong ethical compass and commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to anticipate risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
