Details of the Job/Internship

Cedar Decor Pvt. Ltd. is hiring for the position of Compliance Officer with 7-8 years of experience to join their office in Ahmedabad. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to the laminate manufacturing sector.
• Oversee the process of obtaining and maintaining various certifications required for the manufacturing and distribution of laminate products as under. (Product-Specific Certifications)
• ISO 9001:2015 – Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure consistent product quality and customer satisfaction.
• ISO 14001: Certifies effective environmental management systems.
• EN 438  – European standard for decorative high-pressure laminates (HPL).
• NEMA LD3  – North American standard for high-pressure laminates.
• IS 2046:1995  – Indian standard for decorative high-pressure laminated sheets.
• FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certification – Sustainability
• CE Marking – Required for export to the European Union to comply with safety and environmental regulations.
• Other mandatory certification for manufacturing units as per the need.
• Fire & Safety Certifications
• Environmental & Sustainable Product Certifications
• Energy Management Certification (Optional)
• Develop, implement, and update internal compliance policies and procedures in accordance with changing regulations and certifications.
• Act as the point of contact for external auditors, regulatory bodies, and certification agencies to facilitate audits, inspections, and the issuance of certifications.
• Review and interpret legal documents and contracts related to the company's manufacturing processes, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct periodic internal audits and risk assessments to identify any areas of non-compliance and develop corrective action plans.
• Provide guidance and training to internal teams on compliance-related matters, ensuring all employees are aware of legal and regulatory obligations.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all compliance-related documents, certifications, and correspondence.
• Prepare reports for senior management detailing compliance performance, risk analysis, and upcoming regulatory changes.
• Stay informed of new and evolving regulations, trends, and certifications in the laminate and manufacturing industries, ensuring that Cedar Decor remains ahead of compliance requirements.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in a compliance or legal role within a manufacturing environment (experience in the laminate industry is a plus).
• In-depth knowledge of legal frameworks, industry standards, and certifications relevant to the manufacturing sector.
• Experience with ISO, FSC, or other relevant certifications.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex regulations and provide actionable solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
