Details of the Job/Internship
OSV FTWZs is looking for a candidate for the position of Compliance Officer with 10+ years to join them at their office in Gurgaon.
Role and Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and filing of various customs documents including Bill of Entry (BOE), Shipping Bill (SB), and Bond to Bond Transfer documents.
- Maintain accurate records of import/export transactions and ensure timely submission of required reports to regulatory authorities.
- Ensure compliance with Special Economic Zone (SEZ) regulations ( preparing reports like MONTHLY, QPR, APR ETC) and facilitate customs clearance for transactions involving SEZ units.
- Managing certifications required for import/export activities, including BIS, FSSAI, ADC, EPR, LMPC, TTC, COO, and others as applicable.
- Ensure compliance with duty drawback provisions and assist in the timely filing of duty refund claims.
- Stay updated on changes in custom regulations, tariff structures, and trade agreements affecting imports and exports.
- Develop and implement an effective compliance program.
- Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with customs regulations in day-to-day operations.
- Knowledge of identifying the restricted goods, SCOMET etc.
- Taking accountability for BOEs filled, products approved and ensuring utmost accuracy and neatness of business.
Eligibility
- Educational Qualification: Graduate.
- Required Qualification: BA/MBA/LLB/LLM.
- Experience Required: 10+ years.
- Should have excellent knowledge of IGCR, EPCG, advance authorisation, notifications related to additional duty/duty exemption schemes, IDPMS/EDPMS, and sez compliances.
- Strong understanding of custom laws, regulations and procedures, with specific expertise in HS code classification and duty calculation.
- Familiarity with duty-saving schemes such as Treaty Pact benefits like SAFTA, AIFTA, CEPA, etc. IGCR, Advance Authorization, EPCG and SEZ regulations.
- Active and strong in liasoning and high on integrity.
- Knowledge of certifications and standards relevant to import/export activities including ADC, EPR, BIS, FSSAI, LMPC, TTC ETC.
- Proficiency in customs documentation and filing procedures, including BOE, SB, and other customs declarations.
- Hands-on Experience with customs-related IT systems such as ICEGATE, the relevance of IDPMS and EDPMS is preferred.
- Detailed-oriented mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in liaising, dealing and face-to-face meetings with government offices, problem-solving and addressing the matter as required.
- Energetic and positive attitude.
