Centre for Child Rights (CCR) is the specialized research center of the National Law University Odisha, Cuttack (NLUO). The Centre aims at strengthening law and justice for children and child wellbeing by supporting and initiating research, policy advocacy and community action on children related issues. The Centre intends to provide integrated support and consultancy to different layers of institutional governance for protection and insurance of child rights.
Details of the Job/Internship
National Law University Odisha invites applications for the post of Consultant to join their Centre for Child Rights. The appointment is for 6 months initially extendable on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
Role and Responsibilities
- Undertake field research, vulnerability mapping, social mapping, community engagement to contribute to NLUO-CCR’s flagship intervention and subsequent research and knowledge generation
- Undertake and maintain functional relationships with community leaders and state officials for successful community based intervention and policy/knowledge generation
- Lead/Support data generation and authoring and presenting practise papers on the above
- Assist the introduction of distance mode of Certificate/Diploma Programmes with the guidance and direction from Chair Professor, Centre for Child Rights, NLUO
- Coordinate with the Clinical Course Coordinators and develop work plan for clinical learning of students and project works
- Coordinate with students volunteers on legal research on children issues
- Support Child Rights Journal and publications and events
- Support Legal Aid Clinics on juvenile justice issues
- Any other task as assigned by the centre per priorities
Eligibility
- Postgraduate in Law or any other Social Sciences with at least five years of experience in the area of Child Rights or determinant sectors.
- Well conversant in English, Odia, Hindi and Computer applications.
- Expertise in SPSS or R package will be given preference.
- Excellent community engagement skills.
- Advanced writing, communication and representational skills.
Salary/Stipend
Consolidated pay of INR 67000 per month.
