Details of the Job/Internship

Listenlights is hiring for the position of Contracts & Commercial - Lead with 15-20 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

Team & Functional Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and manage a geographically distributed team of 10+ contracts and commercial professionals across India and Indonesia.
• Drive performance, talent development, and functional capability building.
• Establish and implement standardized contracts and commercial frameworks and SOPs.

Process Standardization & Compliance

• Define structured workflows for contract drafting, review, approval, and risk evaluation.
• Implement and monitor contract governance processes ensuring compliance, transparency, and documentation accuracy.
• Continuously improve policies and streamline procedures across geographies.

Technology-Driven Contract Management

• Implement and promote the use of contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and ERP-integrated tools.
• Ensure real-time tracking of contractual obligations, change orders, NDAs, BGs, and insurance.
• Leverage digital tools for clause libraries, document version control, renewal alerts, and claims management.

Pre-Award & Post-Award Contract Oversight

• Analyze RFPs, tender documents, commercial clauses, liabilities, and payment terms during pre-bid stages.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Estimation teams to flag risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Post-award, ensure contract compliance, manage change orders, and drive claim documentation and enforcement throughout the project lifecycle.

Risk Mitigation & Commercial Safeguarding

• Identify and mitigate contractual risks proactively to avoid financial and reputational exposure.
• Ensure timely claim submission and enforcement of contractual entitlements.
• Coordinate with Legal for dispute resolution, contract terminations, and complex interpretations.

Bank Guarantee (BG) Lifecycle Management

• Manage the complete lifecycle of BGs—from issuance and submission to renewal and release.
• Liaise with clients, banks, and internal teams to ensure zero lapses and financial exposure.

Insurance Management

• Ensure contract-compliant insurance coverage (CAR, WC, Marine, PI, etc.) is in place.
• Coordinate with finance, brokers, and project teams for policy initiation, compliance, and claims management.

Change Management, EOTs & Claims

• Lead the preparation and validation of Extension of Time (EOT) requests, including delay analysis and time-impact studies.
• Prepare and negotiate commercial claims with clients, backed by cost impact analysis and supporting documentation.

Company-Level Contracts & Legal Coordination

• Oversee company-wide legal agreements including NDAs, MoUs, service contracts, and JVs.
• Ensure proper legal review, risk analysis, and leadership sign-off.
• Act as the key liaison for internal teams and legal counsel during escalations and deviations.

Eligibility

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Law, or Commerce
• Master’s degree or LLB preferred
• Experience:
• 15–20 years in contracts and commercial management, with 5+ years in a leadership capacity
• Hands-on experience in EPC, MEP, or Infrastructure sectors
• Proven ability to manage multi-country projects and diverse regulatory frameworks
• Familiarity with FIDIC, CPWD, and other global contract standards

Salary/Stipend
