Details of the Job/Internship
Cargill is hiring an Associate Contracts Lawyer with a minimum of 6 years of experience to review, draft and negotiate moderately complex commercial contracts. The role involves working with established templates and processes, supporting global contract categories and collaborating closely with business teams and legal stakeholders.
Role and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with legal team members and internal clients to structure and execute moderately complex commercial transactions.
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of global commercial contracts, primarily procurement agreements, including contracts related to intellectual property, transportation, warehousing, consulting, distribution, manufacturing, sales, information technology and licensing.
- Provide leadership and support for specific contract categories, including oversight of templates, playbooks and quality control.
- Use systems to manage workflows and track the status of legal matters.
- Apply general legal knowledge to support assigned contract categories and enhance customer experience.
- Support special projects as required.
- Pursue professional development aligned with global contracts group and organisational priorities.
- Handle matters independently under minimal supervision and escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in law.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
- Prior exposure to global commercial contracts and contract management, including drafting, negotiation and administration.
- Experience working in a contracts-related role within a corporate or law firm environment.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management systems and global procurement agreements is preferred.
Salary/Stipend
