Details of the Job/Internship
Cargill is hiring a Contracts Lawyer with a minimum of 6 years of experience to join their office in Gurugram. The role involves reviewing, drafting, and negotiating moderately complex commercial contracts; using established templates, playbooks, and processes; negotiating third-party contracts; tracking legal matters; and partnering with business teams, lawyers, and paralegals on a broad range of commercial agreements.
Role and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the law team and clients on moderately complex commercial transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate global commercial contracts, primarily procurement agreements.
- Work on additional contract categories, including IP, transportation, warehousing, consulting, distribution, external manufacturing, sales, IT, and licensing agreements.
- Provide leadership and support in assigned contract categories, including templates, playbooks, and quality control.
- Use systems for workflow management and tracking legal matters.
- Support template and playbook oversight and customer experience for assigned contract areas.
- Assist with special projects.
- Pursue professional development aligned with global contracts group priorities.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and escalate only complex issues.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience.
- Exposure to global commercial contracts.
- Experience in contract management, including drafting, negotiation, and administration.
- Prior experience in a corporate or law firm contracts-related role.
- Preferred: Experience with contract lifecycle management systems and related technologies.
- Preferred: Ability to identify, evaluate, and address legal risks.
