Details of the Job/Internship

James Walker is hiring a Contracts Manager/Legal Counsel with 2–5 years of post-qualification experience to join their office in Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to sales and procurement functions globally.
• Provide legal advice and conduct research on laws and regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various manufacturing, procurement, sales, and business-related contracts with minimal supervision.
• Draft guidelines, policies, and templates.
• Advise on contentious matters, including managing external counsel and negotiating settlements.
• Provide legal support on compliance matters including GDPR/privacy, anti-bribery, sanctions, export control, and modern slavery.
• Liaise with other members of the legal team.
• Assist in developing the Legal Department and promote best practices across the organisation.
• Assist in training various business teams on legal issues.

Eligibility

• Qualified Lawyer in India or a common law jurisdiction with a basic understanding of English law.
• 2–5 years post-qualification experience.
• Working knowledge of intellectual property, GDPR/privacy, export control and sanctions laws, anti-bribery, and modern slavery.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
• Experienced in legal research and providing pragmatic legal advice.

Salary/Stipend
