Details of the Job/Internship
New Homes Law is hiring a Conveyancing Paralegal to join its New Build and Shared Ownership team in Chelmsford. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, supporting the New Build & Shared Ownership Conveyancing Executive. The position involves providing administrative and legal support throughout the conveyancing process, delivering high standards of client care, and assisting with the progression of matters under supervision. The role offers full training, ongoing support, and a clear pathway towards becoming an independent Conveyancing Executive. It is a fast-paced position with opportunities for professional development and potential qualification support.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assisting Conveyancing Executive(s) in managing caseloads by undertaking legal procedures and administrative tasks as directed.
- Conducting electronic ID verification checks in compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Reviewing legal packs, compiling site notes, and raising queries.
- Preparing contract, mortgage, and search reports.
- Conducting Anti-Money Laundering checks.
- Taking instructions from clients and handling client enquiries.
- Dealing with new build and shared ownership transactions.
- Carrying out OS2 and bankruptcy searches and ensuring they remain in date.
- Setting up files for completion and preparing completion statements.
- Issuing contracts and handling sale or part-exchange enquiries.
- Updating completion boards and completing completion checklists upon receipt of notice.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with introducers.
- Supporting any other duties within the scope and responsibility of the role as required.
Eligibility
- Previous relevant experience in new build and shared ownership matters as an Assistant Conveyancer or Conveyancing Paralegal.
- Excellent communication skills with colleagues at all levels.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a high volume of emails.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Professional, positive, and friendly telephone manner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Salary/Stipend
