Details of the Job/Internship

Freshworks is hiring a Corporate & Employment Counsel with experience of 6–9 years to join their office in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities

• Oversee Board of Directors’ activities and ensure strict compliance with the Companies Act and statutory guidelines.
• Manage the end-to-end administration of Board and committee meetings, including agendas, resolutions, and minutes.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of statutory returns and regulatory submissions to the MCA and other regulators.
• Provide legal advice on recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefits, and employee exits.
• Draft and update employment agreements, separation agreements, and HR policies for Indian and global jurisdictions.
• Monitor labor law developments in APMEA regions and provide practical, scalable solutions to the business.
• Manage personnel-related investigations and disputes, providing expert oversight on POSH and anti-harassment processes.
• Partner with HR to conduct legal training and ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and whistleblower regulations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement proactive policies and drive positive employee relations.

Eligibility

• Education: LL.B. from a recognized university.
• Experience: 6–9 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and employment counsel roles.
• Background: Experience with multinational, technology-driven, or publicly listed companies is required.
• Expertise: Deep understanding of Indian company law, labor regulations, and corporate secretarial standards.
• Specialization: Proven track record in supporting board governance and managing multi-jurisdictional workforce issues.
• Demonstrated experience in handling investigations, risk assessments, and policy implementation.
