Details of the Job/Internship
Hitachi Rail is seeking a Corporate Affairs Counsel with 6–8 years PQE in both private practice and in-house legal roles.
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance and regulatory obligations.
- Supervise company registers and legal documentation.
- Provide senior-level legal support across APAC, including India and Japan operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, NDAs, and strategic agreements.
- Advise on M&A, finance transactions, and intellectual property issues.
- Engage with senior executives, cross-functional teams, and external counsel.
- Identify legal risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support business strategy with legal insights.
Eligibility
- Law degree (LLB or JD); admission to practice in relevant jurisdictions.
- CS qualification and experience preferred.
- 6–8 years PQE with combined private practice and in-house experience.
- Expertise in corporate law, compliance, and contract negotiation.
- Experience across APAC jurisdictions and in multinational companies desirable.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
