Details of the Job/Internship

HackerRank is hiring a Corporate Counsel based in India with 5+ years of law firm or in-house experience. The role involves negotiating customer and vendor contracts, supporting compliance initiatives, advising on corporate, employment, IP, data privacy, and AI-related legal matters, and acting as the principal legal advisor for India operations.

Role and Responsibilities

• Review, prepare, and negotiate commercial contracts including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, DPAs, and other agreements.
• Support Sales, Procurement, Product, and other business teams in contract negotiation and risk management.
• Develop and implement standardized contract templates and playbooks to streamline legal processes.
• Advise on India-specific laws, including employment, corporate governance, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in managing product and data compliance across multiple jurisdictions (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, AI regulations).
• Support General Counsel in advising decision-makers on legal elements of business operations.

Eligibility

• Licensed attorney in India with 5+ years of law firm or in-house experience.
• Prior experience in tech/SaaS, preferably on the vendor/seller side.
• Proven track record drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Strong knowledge of data privacy and technology compliance issues.
• Experience working in mid- or late-stage startup companies with enterprise-level customers.
• Ability to advise cross-functionally and develop compliance policies.

Salary/Stipend
