Details of the Job/Internship
Livspace is hiring for the position of Corporate Counsel with 8-10 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Contract Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of commercial contracts, including:
- Manufacturing agreements
- Business development and joint venture agreements
- Procurement and IT services contracts
- SaaS and licensing agreements
- NDAs, MSAs, and inter-group contracts
- Website terms and other business-specific documents
- Develop and maintain standardized contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and clause libraries in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Identify and mitigate contract-related risks, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
2. Compliance & Regulatory Advisory
- Provide legal counsel on:
- New business activities, FDI regulations, and structuring
- Implementation of DPDPA (Digital Personal Data Protection Act) and data privacy protocols
- Labour and employment law compliance
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes, ensuring adherence to evolving compliance requirements.
- Contribute to pre-IPO due diligence, audit preparedness, and interaction with regulatory bodies.
- Track compliance metrics and develop reporting frameworks.
3. Internal Collaboration & Governance
- Partner with internal teams (HR, Finance, Treasury, and Business Leadership) on:
- Governance and policy development
- Contract negotiations with external stakeholders
- Risk analysis and communication
- Lead or assist in preparing SOPs, internal guidelines, and training programs for legal and business functions.
- Support legal team growth by mentoring junior legal professionals and cross-functional partners.
Eligibility
- Experience: 8–10 years
- Qualification: LL.B. from a reputed university
- Preferred Background: MNC or leading law firm experience; exposure to M&A/PE/VC transactions is a plus.
