Details of the Job/Internship
Synaptics is hiring a Corporate Counsel to join their Legal team in Bangalore, India. The Corporate Counsel will work with business leaders, other legal department staff, and outside counsel on contracting, regulatory, and other legal issues necessary to support the operational needs of the company. This position reports to Synaptics’ Assistant General Counsel, Asia Pacific.
Role and Responsibilities
Job Duties
- Review and negotiate a wide range of agreements related to Synaptics’ business and operations, which includes EDA tools and Software License Agreements, Purchase and Supply Agreements, Distributor Agreements, Development Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Contractor Agreements, and Facilities Agreements, etc.
- Identify risks in the agreements and summarize agreement terms to other teams or management as needed
- Provide legal support for customer and supplier engagements
- Handle corporate governance matters for Synaptics’ subsidiaries in India, including all annual compliances required under Indian laws and some general corporate advisory on HR and employment matters for India
- Provide timely legal advice to other functions in Synaptics to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Provide legal support to liquidation, mergers and acquisitions, labor law issues, litigation, legal research, and other matters under the purview of the General Counsel or Assistant General Counsel

- Demonstrated capability for project management, including detailed project monitoring and customer follow-through
- Self-motivated and directed
Eligibility
- Law degree from a recognized institution in India and active Bar admission in India
- 5 years of work experience in a law firm or a multinational in-house legal team
- Experience with Indian corporate governance and Indian employment matters
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Active Bar admission or study experience in U.S. is a plus
- Experience working in a foreign technology company (especially semiconductor industry), manufacturing or software company is a plus
- Experience working on software or source code licensing agreements is a plus
- No travel required
