Details of the Job/Internship
Freshworks Inc. is hiring a Corporate and Employment Counsel with 6–9 years of post-qualification experience to support corporate governance and employment law matters.
Role and Responsibilities
- Oversee Board of Directors’ activities and ensure compliance with statutory and corporate governance requirements.
- Ensure timely convening and lawful conduct of Annual General Meetings (AGM) and other statutory meetings.
- Monitor and ensure timely filing of statutory returns and regulatory submissions with relevant authorities including MCA.
- Organize and manage board and committee meetings, including agendas, resolutions, and minutes.
- Provide legal advice on recruitment, onboarding, employee benefits, performance management, and employee exits.
- Draft, review, and update employment agreements, offer letters, separation agreements, and HR policies.
- Monitor labour law developments across APMEA regions and provide practical legal advice to the business.
- Manage personnel-related investigations and disputes, including POSH-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with labour laws, anti-harassment policies, whistleblower policies, and data privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Partner with HR teams to develop policies, conduct legal training, and implement regulatory requirements.
- Support initiatives that promote positive employee relations and ethical workplace practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop scalable HR policies, processes, and training programs.
Eligibility
- LL.B. from a recognized university.
- 6–9 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and employment counsel roles.
- Experience working with multinational, technology-driven, or public listed companies.
- Strong knowledge of Indian company law, labour and employment laws, and corporate secretarial practices.
- Experience drafting, negotiating, and interpreting employment and commercial contracts.
- Experience supporting board governance, statutory compliance, and regulatory filings.
- Exposure to cross-border compliance and multi-jurisdictional workforce management.
- Experience advising leadership and HR teams on employee relations, olicy implementation, investigations, and regulatory changes.
