Details of the Job/Internship

ANZ is hiring a Corporate Lawyer with post-qualification experience to join their Mumbai office. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and help execute transactional documentation.
• Maintain legal templates, guides, and checklists to ensure consistency.
• Offer proactive day-to-day legal advice and resolve legal, regulatory, and customer issues.
• Assess and implement regulatory changes and strategic initiatives.
• Provide regulatory advice, including compliance, breaches, and interactions with regulators.
• Support governance of principal transactions, ventures, partnerships, and investments.
• Assist with product and service development, approvals, and licensing.
• Manage remediation activities, regulatory enquiries, investigations, disputes, and complaints.
• Oversee strategic contracts, tenders, and related issues.
• Support senior lawyers in guiding stakeholders on legal and regulatory landscapes.
• Minimise external legal costs and build internal capabilities.

Eligibility

• Post-qualification experience as a lawyer (in-house or private practice).
• Strong technical expertise in banking and finance law.
• Ability to provide timely, commercially aligned legal advice.
• Strong understanding of banking operations and institutional banking.
• Strong judgment and risk awareness.
• Ability to work at pace with accuracy.
• Tertiary legal qualification.
• Admission as a lawyer in India or another suitable jurisdiction.
