Details of the Job/Internship
Healthbridge is looking for a candidate for the position of Corporate Lawyer with 3 to 6 years of experience to join their office in Pune.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle and represent the company in health insurance-related legal matters, claim disputes, and regulatory issues.
- Draft, review, and vet legal documents including contracts, indemnity agreements, circulars, and policy terms.
- Manage escalated claim disputes between insured members, TPAs, hospitals, and insurers.
- Lead dispute resolution, arbitration, and litigation processes, including filing responses and attending hearings if required.
- Advise internal claims, operations, and customer service teams on legal implications related to claim approvals, rejections, exclusions, and sub-limits.
- Liaise with external legal counsel, insurance regulatory bodies, IRDAI, and grievance redressal forums.
- Ensure compliance with IRDAI guidelines, consumer protection laws, and evolving health insurance regulations.
- Support audit teams with legal interpretation of claims flagged during reviews.
- Draft formal responses to legal notices, ombudsman matters, and consumer forum complaints.
- Mitigate legal risks by proactively identifying compliance gaps and implementing safeguards in internal processes.
- Stay updated on relevant court judgments, IRDAI circulars, and legal precedents impacting health insurance claims.
Eligibility
- Qualification: LLB or LLM from a recognized university; Bar Council registration mandatory.
- Experience: 3–6 years of corporate legal experience, with a minimum of 2 years in the health insurance or healthcare sector.
- Strong understanding of insurance laws, TPAs, policy interpretation, IRDAI regulations, and medical claims process.
- Experience in handling legal cases related to health insurance disputes, consumer complaints, and ombudsman matters.
- Excellent legal drafting, research, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with claims, underwriting, risk, compliance, and audit teams.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
