Details of the Job/Internship

Mafatlal Industries Limited is hiring for the position of Corporate Lawyer with 3-4 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, vet, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and corporate agreements.
• Support and coordinate litigation matters with external legal counsel; prepare case briefs and ensure timely follow-ups.
• Assist in corporate transactions including due diligence, transaction documentation, and regulatory filings.
• Monitor updates in corporate, securities, and regulatory laws to ensure compliance and advise relevant teams.
• Provide legal advice and risk assessment to internal departments on business operations and strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with departments such as Finance, HR, and Compliance to align legal risk management with business goals.
• Maintain and update a legal MIS for tracking contracts, cases, and compliance tasks.
• Draft and summarize key issues related to ongoing legal proceedings for senior leadership.
• Handle special projects and any additional legal assignments as required by Legal Counsel or senior management.

Eligibility

• Education: LLB or LLM from a recognized institution.
• Experience: 3–4 years of relevant experience in corporate law, ideally in a reputed law firm or in-house legal team.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, commercial contracting, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and legal research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently and work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated integrity, ethical judgment, and a high degree of professional responsibility.
