Mafatlal Industries Limited (MIL) is hiring for the position of Corporate Lawyer with 3-4 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Draft, review, vet, and negotiate a wide array of corporate and commercial agreements.
- Litigation Oversight: Manage legal disputes by coordinating with external advocates, preparing briefs, and ensuring consistent follow-up.
- Transaction Support: Provide legal assistance for corporate transactions, including document drafting, review, and thorough legal research.
- Regulatory Compliance: Continuously monitor and analyze updates in corporate laws, regulations, and notifications to guarantee ongoing adherence.
- Legal Advisory: Offer timely legal advice to internal teams, leveraging legal insights to support critical business decisions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments such as Finance, HR, and Compliance to ensure legal alignment with overall business goals.
- Legal Tracking & Reporting: Maintain a comprehensive Legal MIS to effectively track cases, contracts, and compliance activities.
- External Counsel Coordination: Liaise with external lawyers, preparing summaries and briefs for ongoing legal proceedings.
- Ad-hoc Legal Projects: Handle additional legal matters or special projects as assigned by senior management.
Eligibility
- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Master of Laws (LLM) from a recognized institution.
- Experience: 3–4 years of experience in corporate law, gained either in an in-house legal department or a reputable law firm.
- Legal Expertise: Strong understanding of corporate law, governance frameworks, securities regulations, and commercial contracting.
- Skills: Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and legal analytical abilities.
- Work Ethic: Capable of working autonomously, managing multiple priorities, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Professionalism: Demonstrates high ethical standards, integrity, and sound professional judgment.
