Details of the Job/Internship
Right Advisors is hiring a Senior Corporate Lawyer with 8–12 years of experience to lead the legal and compliance function for their client’s India operations in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of specialized commercial agreements, including freight forwarding, warehousing, and transportation SLAs.
- Ensure all operations comply with Indian customs, import-export laws, and multi-modal transportation regulations.
- Manage customer and vendor disputes specifically related to cargo damages, service failures, and billing discrepancies.
- Liaise with and oversee external counsel for ongoing litigation, arbitration, or out-of-court settlements.
- Support corporate governance by managing board resolutions, statutory filings, and secretarial activities.
- Identify legal risks in business expansion and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies and risk reports.
- Provide expert legal guidance for M&A activities, joint ventures, and new facility leasing.
- Conduct legal due diligence on global vendors and partners to ensure supply chain integrity.
- Design and deliver compliance training sessions for sales and operations teams.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized university.
- 8–12 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Strong Preference: Prior experience in the logistics, supply chain, or transportation sectors.
- Deep expertise in Indian commercial laws and international trade regulations.
- Proven track record in handling complex disputes and managing external legal partners.
- Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills with a business-enabling mindset.
