YaClass is hiring for the position of Corporate Legal Advisor with 3+ years of experience to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Labor Law & Contracting
- Draft, review, and amend offer letters, employment agreements, contracts, and internal policies (e.g., Code of Conduct, Termination Procedures).
- Stay updated on labor law changes and ensure company documents remain compliant.
- Draft legal instructions, notices, and internal memos.
- Represent the company before local authorities and regulatory bodies when required.
2. Customer Protection
- Draft and amend legal documents for company products, including terms & conditions and customer protection policies.
- Advise teams on handling customer-related issues and claims.
- Review and respond to customer claims in compliance with internal policies.
3. Data Protection & Privacy
- Draft and review terms, notices, and consent forms to ensure compliance with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
- Develop and maintain registries, instructions, and internal data protection policies.
4. Commercial & Daily Business
- Provide legal support to marketing, sales, and product teams on campaigns, launches, and partnerships.
- Draft and review partnership contracts, rental agreements, and other commercial contracts.
5. Corporate Governance & M&A Support
- Assist in drafting board resolutions, consents, and investor-related documents.
- Support M&A transactions and corporate restructuring activities.
- Maintain statutory filings and ensure compliance with registrar/regulatory bodies.
6. Legal Monitoring & Compliance Alerts
- Track and report changes in relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Provide timely alerts and solutions regarding potential violations or ongoing legal issues.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LL.B./LL.M.) from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3+ years of legal practice (in-house or law firm), with expertise in Labour Law, Customer Protection, Data Protection, Commercial Law, or Corporate Governance.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and advisory skills.
- Knowledge of personal data protection regulations (GDPR or equivalent).
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
