Details of the Job/Internship
sugar.fit is hiring a Corporate Legal Counsel with experience of 4–7 years to join their office in Bengaluru. The role involves overseeing and managing the entire legal function of the organisation, focusing on business-centric legal solutions.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal strategy and risk management guidance to leadership to support decision-making across business verticals.
- Structure and negotiate legal frameworks for vendor relationships, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, warehousing, clinic operations, technology integrations, and strategic partnerships.
- Manage the complete contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements across marketing, operations, product, clinical, real estate, and strategic partnerships.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with healthcare laws, FEMA, data privacy regulations, consumer protection laws, FSSAI regulations, and relevant industry standards.
- Advise on telemedicine and digital health regulations, including compliance with CDSCO, state authorities, and clinical or medical device guidelines.
- Support fundraising, investor relations, and corporate structuring initiatives.
- Oversee corporate governance matters, including board and investor meetings and compliance requirements.
- Manage litigation, regulatory disputes, consumer complaints, ASCI matters, FSSAI notices, and enforcement actions.
- Strengthen intellectual property protection by securing trademarks for core brands and product lines.
- Develop and maintain legal MIS, including updates on contract status, compliance metrics, litigation matters, and key legal risks.
Eligibility
- LL.B. from a recognised law school.
- LL.M. is an advantage.
- 4–7 years of experience in corporate law, preferably in a high-growth startup, health-tech company, or a top-tier law firm handling corporate, commercial, or regulatory matters.
- Strong knowledge of commercial laws, corporate governance, data privacy under the IT Act, FEMA, and healthcare and consumer protection regulations relevant to health-tech and consumer businesses.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and develop legal strategies aligned with business objectives.
