Details of the Job/Internship
YuniQ is hiring a Corporate Legal Counsel with 2–3 years of experience to join its office in Chennai. The role involves managing contract lifecycle, handling SaaS licensing terms, supporting litigation and labour law matters, and advising on data protection and compliance issues.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements including procurement, vendor, customer, partnership, NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, and SaaS agreements.
 - Maintain contract repository and tracking systems, ensuring timely renewals, amendments, and compliance.
 - Support business teams in contract risk assessments and ensure alignment with company policies.
 - Review and update SaaS subscription terms, service agreements, and online terms of use.
 - Collaborate with product and commercial teams to align legal terms with product offerings and SLAs.
 - Manage litigation, notices, disputes, and employment-related legal matters.
 - Liaise with external counsel, prepare briefs, track deadlines, and maintain case files.
 - Advise HR on disciplinary actions, terminations, and statutory labour law compliance.
 - Provide first-line advice on data protection obligations including GDPR basics.
 - Support privacy compliance, contract addenda, DPIAs, and responses to data subject requests with the privacy team.
 
Eligibility
- LLB (minimum) from a recognized university.
 - 2–3 years of in-house legal experience handling contracts, employment law issues, and compliance.
 - Exposure to SaaS or technology industry contracts.
 - Familiarity with data protection principles and labour laws.
 - Proficiency in MS Office and contract/case management tools.
 - Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
 - Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
