Boston Institute of Analytics is hiring a Corporate Litigation Lawyer (Freelance) with 5–10 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation to join their office in Mumbai, with hybrid or remote collaboration options. The role focuses on managing franchise disputes, contractual enforcement, and complex legal matters related to business partnerships and brand protection.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle legal disputes arising from franchise agreements, including breach of contract, non-performance, brand misuse, royalty recovery, and termination-related issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate Franchise Agreements, NDAs, MOUs, and Licensing Contracts.
- Represent the organization in franchise-related civil suits, injunctions, and arbitration proceedings.
- Advise management on legal structuring and risk mitigation for franchise expansion and compliance.
- Manage civil recovery suits, defamation claims, contractual breaches, and injunctions across courts.
- Draft and vet plaints, written statements, affidavits, rejoinders, and interim applications.
- Handle recovery proceedings, enforcement of decrees, and liaise with external counsel.
- Draft legal notices, replies, demand letters, and settlement terms.
- Conduct legal research and maintain internal case documentation.
- Advise management on litigation exposure and preventive legal strategies.
- Provide legal advisory on contract compliance and franchise operations.
- Review marketing and communication content for defamation or IP risks.
- Maintain litigation trackers and legal dashboards.
- Assist internal teams on dispute resolution and legal escalations.
Eligibility
- LL.B. from a recognized law school; LL.M. preferred.
- Licensed to practice law in India (Sanad mandatory).
- 5–10 years of experience in litigation, particularly in franchise, corporate, or commercial disputes.
- Strong drafting and advocacy skills.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as SCC Online and Manupatra.
- Excellent command over English and legal writing.
- Available for freelance or retainer-based engagement.
