Boston Institute of Analytics is hiring for the position of Corporate Litigation Lawyer with 10+ years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

Case Management:

Oversee all phases of litigation, from initial assessment to final appeal.
Draft, review, and finalize legal pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other court documents.
Collaborate with witnesses, domain experts, external counsel, and law enforcement as needed.
Maintain comprehensive case files and ensure adherence to procedural timelines.

2. Legal Research:

Conduct in-depth legal research to support litigation strategy and strengthen case arguments.
Stay abreast of statutory updates, legal precedents, and significant judgments affecting corporate law.
Prepare legal memoranda and internal briefs summarizing research findings.

3. Legal Representation:

Represent the organization before courts, tribunals, regulatory bodies, and arbitration forums.
Participate in mediation, conciliation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances as necessary.

4. Advisory Role:

Provide strategic legal advice to management and internal teams to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
Analyze complex legal documents and provide actionable insights for business operations and strategic initiatives.
Assess the legal implications of business ventures, contracts, and partnerships.

5. Document Review:

Review and assess a broad range of legal and business documents to identify potential litigation risks.
Support the discovery process, including e-discovery and document production.
Flag potential inconsistencies or areas of concern proactively.

6. Stakeholder Liaison:

Serve as the legal point of contact for HR, Finance, Operations, and Compliance departments.
Coordinate communication with external law firms and legal consultants.
Align litigation strategies with the company’s commercial objectives.

7. Risk Management:

Identify potential legal liabilities and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
Participate in internal audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments.
Implement industry best practices in legal risk management.

8. Compliance:

Ensure all litigation activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with the Compliance team to implement effective legal processes.
Participate in regulatory inspections and audits as needed.

9. Reporting:

Provide regular updates to senior management on ongoing litigation, key risks, and recommended strategies.
Maintain a comprehensive legal dashboard to track case progress and document submissions.
Document lessons learned from closed cases and update internal policy manuals accordingly.

Eligibility

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a reputed institution; Master’s degree (LL.M.) preferred.
Experience: 10+ years of litigation and advisory experience, with exposure to civil and criminal matters.
Certification: Sanad License and valid license to practice law in India.
Legal Expertise: Strong understanding of corporate, contract, and commercial law. Knowledge of intellectual property law is a plus.
Research Proficiency: Skilled in using legal research tools (e.g., Manupatra, SCC Online).
Skills: Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
