Details of the Job/Internship

Boston Institute of Analytics is hiring a Corporate Litigation Lawyer with 5–15 years of experience to join its Mumbai office. The role involves handling complex civil and commercial disputes, including recovery suits, defamation claims, injunctions, and contractual disputes, along with providing strategic legal advisory and hands-on litigation support across District Courts, High Courts, NCLT, and consumer forums.

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end civil litigation, including recovery suits, defamation claims, and contractual disputes.
• Draft and finalise pleadings, including plaints, written statements, affidavits, replies, rejoinders, and interim applications.
• Prepare evidence bundles, examination briefs, and ensure procedural compliance across forums.
• Liaise with clients, witnesses, external counsel, and authorities.
• Maintain litigation trackers and monitor deadlines and court dates.
• Conduct legal research on procedural and substantive laws and relevant precedents.
• Draft legal notices, replies, settlement agreements, and pre-litigation correspondence.
• Prepare legal strategy notes and risk assessments for internal stakeholders.
• Represent the organisation before courts, tribunals, and quasi-judicial bodies.
• Handle execution proceedings and MSMED Act claims.
• Participate in arbitration, mediation, Lok Adalats, and conciliation proceedings.
• Advise management on litigation risks and preventive strategies.
• Review contracts and public-facing content for legal and reputational risks.
• Support internal teams on legal queries and escalations.
• Maintain legal dashboards, documentation, and respond to statutory notices and regulatory communications.

Eligibility

• LL.B. degree from a recognised law school.
• LL.M. is preferred.
• Enrolment to practise law in India, with Sanad mandatory.
• 5–15 years of litigation experience in civil suits, recovery matters, defamation, and contractual disputes.
• Strong drafting skills and courtroom experience with the ability to independently handle cases.
• Proficiency in legal research platforms such as SCC Online, Manupatra, or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong organisational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.
• High ethical standards and professionalism.
• Exposure to education, media, or technology sector clients is preferred.
• Familiarity with Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act or IT Act matters is an advantage.
• Knowledge of intellectual property law, consumer protection, or arbitration is an added advantage.
