Details of the Job/Internship
Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring for the position of Senior Associate/Principal Associate in the Corporate and M&A team to join its Mumbai office. The role involves handling transactional and advisory matters relating to corporate and strategic transactions, managing assignments end-to-end including negotiations, and delivering work within defined timelines.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle transactional work including M&A, private equity investments, venture capital funding, joint ventures, corporate commercial transactions, and strategic corporate transactions.
- Provide advisory support on corporate laws, regulatory or sectoral laws, and compliance matters.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of corporate laws including Indian Contract Act, 1872, Companies Act, 2013, Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999, Competition Act, 2002, SEBI laws, RBI regulations, industrial and labour laws, data protection laws, Legal Metrology Act, 2010, and substantive laws for dispute resolution mechanisms.
- Manage assignments independently from start to finish, including negotiations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in law and jurisprudence.
- Deliver work products within specified timelines, including under tight deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders and maintain strong client relationships.
- Mentor and train junior associates and contribute to team development.
- Demonstrate analytical ability in analysing laws and judgments for practical application.
- Exhibit attention to detail, strong turnaround time, and problem-solving approach.
- Use technology efficiently and contribute to knowledge management initiatives including writing articles and papers.
- Adhere to firm policies and contribute to business development initiatives aligned with reporting partner plans.
- Demonstrate commercial acumen as a business lawyer.
Eligibility
- A five-year law degree from a reputed university with a good academic record.
- LLM/CA/CS is an added advantage.
- 4–8 years of experience in the corporate practice of well-reputed law firm(s).
