Details of the Job/Internship
Aptiv is hiring a Corporate Paralegal with experience of 5+ years to join their office in New York.
Role and Responsibilities
- Supporting the VP, Chief Corporate Development & Finance Counsel and the Legal Counsel, Corporate & Corporate Development in corporate development / M&A and finance activities.
- Preparing or working with service providers in the preparation of a wide variety of documents relating to corporate development / M&A and finance matters.
- Working with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, Corporate Development, Tax and Finance) in the due diligence process of mergers and acquisitions.
- Keeping the corporate development / M&A and finance files and forms up to date.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with other members of the Global Legal and Compliance team and internal cross-functional teams such as Corporate Development, Finance and Tax.
- Managing outside counsel and other third-party service providers for corporate development and finance matters and helping to keep track of costs.
- Arranging for document execution, notarization, apostilling and filing.
Eligibility
- 5+ years’ experience working as a paralegal or equivalent either in a law firm or a global company.
- Fully proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- High quality and accuracy of written work, experience managing a complex and varied portfolio of work with moderate supervision.
- Proven experience working with sensitive and confidential information.
- Highly organized and motivated self-starter.
- Confident, assertive, and collaborative attitude withthe willingness to learn and work as part of a team and assist in varied matters.
- Experience in conducting and distilling legal research and reviewing and drafting agreements.
- Experience with corporate finance deals.
- Experience with matter management or similar legal technology tools.
