Details of the Job/Internship

Mastercard is hiring a Counsel  to join their GBSC Legal Services team in Pune.

Role and Responsibilities

• Perform end-to-end contract preparation and execution processes for an assigned portfolio of transactions.
• Conduct initial triage on contract requests to ensure strict adherence to established business policies and procedures.
• Review, draft, and negotiate routine vendor and commercial contracts, including NDAs, software licenses, and consulting agreements.
• Consult with business unit clients and subject matter experts to ensure agreements align with approved playbooks and policies.
• Analyze contract requirements and special provisions to ensure compliance with relevant international laws and regulations.
• Maintain high standards of quality, response time, and resolution time in accordance with GBSC standards.
• Exercise independent judgment in negotiations while recognizing when to escalate complex legal or business issues.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders to confirm and finalize legal and business contract terms.

Eligibility

• LLB graduate from a recognized university.
• Solid legal and business acumen with sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage workloads involving tasks of varying priority and complexity.
• Excellent English language communication and interpersonal skills.
• Intermediate negotiation skills with a customer-focused service orientation.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in reviewing and negotiating contracts.
• Knowledge of US, European, or other international legal systems and business practices is considered a significant advantage.
