Details of the Job/Internship

AQUILAW is hiring a Counsel – Corporate & M&A Team with 8–12 years of experience to join their offices in Kolkata, Mumbai, or Delhi.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support on M&A and investment transactions.
• Lead a team of 4–5 practitioners and report to the Practice Head.
• Oversee legal due diligence and risk assessments.
• Draft and negotiate agreements including SPAs, JVAs, and other contracts.
• Advise on governance matters, shareholder approvals, and related compliance.
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance throughout transactions.
• Coordinate with clients, regulators, and external counsel.
• Deliver internal legal training and maintain transaction documentation.
• Manage billing and recovery for the team.
• Contribute to business development initiatives for the team and the firm.

Eligibility

• LLB or LLM from a premier Indian or international law school.
• 8–12 years of experience in M&A, PE/VC with a top law firm.
• Strong transaction execution and corporate law expertise.
• Independent decision-making and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong client relationship management and business acumen.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage priorities effectively.
