Details of the Job/Internship
OSV FTWZs-India is hiring for the position of Customs Compliance Officer with 10+ years of experience to join their office in Gurugram.
Role and Responsibilities
1. HS Code Identification:
- Accurately classify products using the Harmonized System (HS) codes.
- Stay informed about updates and amendments in HS codes.
2. Duties Calculation:
- Accurately calculate customs duties based on current regulations.
- Apply duty exemption schemes and FTAs effectively.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all customs laws and regulations.
- Implement SEZ and FTWZ rules and procedures effectively.
4. Export and Import Benefits:
- Identify and apply for applicable export and import benefits.
- Stay updated on changes in export benefit schemes and FTAs, ensuring correct documentation.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and review customs documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain organized records of import/export transactions.
6. Risk Assessment and Management:
- Analyze and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with handling Dangerous Goods (DGR) and hazardous cargo.
7. Communication:
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Confidently interact with senior customs officials and other stakeholders.
- Draft responses to queries and departmental communications effectively.
8. Problem Solving:
- Resolve customs-related discrepancies promptly.
- Provide guidance and support to the team on customs compliance matters.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- MBA, LLB, or LLM preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in customs compliance or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of HS codes, customs duties, FTAs, and export benefits.
- Proficiency in SEZ and FTWZ regulations and procedures.
- Ability to interpret MSDS and manage DGR and hazardous cargo.
- Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Confidence in interacting with senior customs officials.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure.
