Details of the Job/Internship

Cybage Software is hiring a Data Privacy Advocate with 3- 5 years of experience to join their Pune office in a hybrid capacity

Role and Responsibilities

• Oversee the company’s global privacy program, ensuring strict adherence to international privacy laws and internal policies.
• Lead the execution and implementation of the India Digital Personal Data Protection Act across the organization.
• Independently draft, review, and negotiate Data Protection Agreements (DPAs), Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), and other privacy documents.
• Establish end-to-end monitoring frameworks for Controller and Processor roles within the organization.
• Lead the response to data breaches, privacy complaints, and Subject Access Requests (SARs).
• Plan and execute internal audits to identify process improvements and mitigate operational risks.
• Conduct regular privacy awareness programs and training for employees to ensure a culture of compliance.
• Advise on evolving privacy trends and implement actionable guidelines across multiple jurisdictions.

Eligibility

• Educational Qualification: Law degree (LL.B.) with a preferred LL.M. or Diploma in Data Protection Laws.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in data privacy and regulatory compliance; minimum 3+ years overall legal experience.
• Technical Expertise: Expertise in GDPR, CCPA, and the India Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
• Certifications: CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe) is highly preferred.
• Competencies: Strong program management, incident response skills, and the ability to conduct internal audits.
