Prakhar Software Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is hiring a Dean of Faculty-Law to join them in Vododara office.
Role and Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Curriculum Development: The Dean ensures that the law curriculum is current, rigorous, and aligned with evolving legal practices and trends. This includes approving new courses, programs, and changes to existing ones.
- Academic Standards: The Dean is responsible for maintaining and enhancing academic quality within the faculty, including overseeing teaching and learning standards.
- Research Support: The Dean promotes and supports faculty research, establishing policies for research funding and collaboration. They may also encourage the publication of research in prestigious journals and support faculty members' professional development.
- Student Affairs: The Dean oversees student-related matters, including academic advising, student progression, and resolving disputes. They may also play a role in creating and maintaining an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Strategic Planning and Development
- Vision and Mission: The Dean leads the formulation of the faculty's long-term strategic goals, aligning them with the overall vision and mission of the university. This may involve planning for future growth, areas of specialization, and integration of new technologies in education.
- Accreditation and Compliance: The Dean ensures that the faculty meets all accreditation requirements and adheres to local, national, or international standards for law schools.
Administrative Management
- Budgeting and Resource Allocation: The Dean is responsible for managing the faculty’s budget, ensuring efficient use of resources, and seeking funding from external sources, such as grants or donations.
- Faculty Recruitment and Development: The Dean plays a crucial role in the hiring and promotion of faculty members, ensuring that the faculty is staffed with qualified and competent personnel. They may also oversee faculty development programs, including mentorship and continuing education opportunities.
- Staff Management: In addition to faculty members, the Dean manages non-academic staff and ensures that all administrative operations run smoothly.
External Relations and Advocacy
- Building Partnerships: The Dean fosters relationships with external organizations, such as law firms, government agencies, and legal associations, for student internships, research collaborations, and guest lectures.
- Alumni Relations: Maintaining relationships with alumni is another important aspect. The Dean may lead alumni engagement efforts, such as organizing events and fundraising initiatives.
- Public Representation: The Dean often serves as the public face of the faculty, representing it in academic conferences, public forums, and legal education discussions. They might also be involved in media relations regarding legal matters.
Governance and Policy Formulation
- Faculty Governance: The Dean typically chairs faculty meetings, coordinates committees, and works with other administrators and faculty members to establish policies regarding academic integrity, faculty behavior, and student conduct.
- Policy Implementation: The Dean ensures that policies relating to admissions, student progression, assessment, and other academic matters are effectively implemented.
Student Success and Welfare
- Academic Guidance: The Dean provides guidance to students, helps resolve issues related to academic performance or discipline, and ensures that student grievances are addressed appropriately.
- Well-being and Support Services: The Dean oversees the availability of student support services, including counseling, career services, and access to learning resources.

- Inclusive Environment: The Dean ensures that the law school fosters a diverse and inclusive environment, actively working to attract students and faculty from varied backgrounds and ensuring equal opportunities for all.
Global Engagement
- International Partnerships: The Dean may oversee the development of international relationships, such as student exchange programs or joint academic ventures with foreign universities or legal institutions.
- Global Legal Trends: The Dean keeps the faculty updated on global developments in law, ensuring that the curriculum reflects changes in international law, trade, human rights, etc.
Eligibility
- A PhD in Law or an equivalent degree in a related field.
- A Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.) with specialization in any area of law from a recognized university.
- At least 10-15 years of teaching, research, and administrative experience, with a strong background in legal education.
- Significant experience in academic leadership, preferably as Head of Department, Associate Dean, or similar roles.
- Proven experience in managing academic teams and faculty development.
- Experience in liaising with government bodies, legal professionals, and other law schools.
- Active involvement in academic committees and decision-making processes at a university level.
