Details of the Job/Internship
MNR University is hiring for the position of Dean school of law with 10 years of experience to join their office in Hyderabad.
Role and Responsibilities
Academic Leadership:
- Lead and oversee the academic programs within the Law School, ensuring high standards of legal education and alignment with contemporary legal practice.
- Foster a culture of intellectual rigor, legal research, and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Guide the development and revision of curricula to adapt to changing legal landscapes, including emerging areas such as technology, international law, and environmental law.
Strategic Planning & Vision:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to enhance the Law School’s national and international standing.
- Cultivate a forward-thinking vision for the Law School that anticipates trends in legal education and practice.
- Engage with faculty and stakeholders to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation in legal education.
Faculty and Staff Management:
- Recruit, retain, and support a diverse and accomplished faculty committed to teaching, legal scholarship, and service.
- Oversee faculty professional development and provide mentorship to ensure continued academic excellence.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative environment for faculty and staff to thrive in teaching and research.
Research and Scholarship:
- Promote a vibrant research culture and support faculty in producing high-impact legal scholarship.
- Build partnerships with external organizations, government entities, and law firms to advance applied legal research.
- Ensure that the Law School plays an active role in shaping the future of legal scholarship and practice.
Student Experience and Engagement:
- Enhance the quality of the student experience by ensuring academic rigor, robust clinical and experiential learning programs, and a supportive learning environment.
- Advocate for student success through career services, internships, and job placement programs.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the student body, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all students.
External Relations and Fundraising:
- Represent the Law School at national and international legal conferences, alumni events, and university functions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni, donors, legal professionals, and other external stakeholders.
- Lead fundraising efforts in collaboration with the university’s development office, aiming to secure philanthropic support for scholarships, faculty research, and infrastructure.
Financial Management:
- Oversee the financial management of the Law School, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently to meet academic and operational goals.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the financial sustainability of the school, including identifying new revenue streams, such as executive education or legal consulting services.
Accreditation and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the Law School maintains accreditation from relevant bodies such as the American Bar Association (ABA) or equivalent.
- Lead the development of initiatives to continuously improve the quality of legal education, faculty, and student outcomes in accordance with accreditation standards.
Eligibility
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, with a distinguished record of legal scholarship and teaching.
- At least 10 years of academic and administrative leadership experience, preferably within a law school setting.
- A strong record of legal research, teaching excellence, and service to the legal community.
- Deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing legal education, including trends in legal practice, diversity, technology, and globalization.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, faculty, and staff while promoting academic excellence and institutional growth.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a collaborative approach to working with faculty, students, and external stakeholders.
- Experience leading or serving as a senior administrator within a law school or academic department.
- A track record of successful fundraising and alumni relations.
- Familiarity with the accreditation process, particularly with the American Bar Association (ABA).
- Experience in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in academic environments.
- Active participation in professional legal organizations and networks.
