IDFC FIRST Bank is hiring for the position of Deputy Legal Counsel with 5-10 years of experience to join their office in Delhi.
Role and Responsibilities
- Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal guidance on retail banking operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Contract Review and Negotiation: Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and agreements with third-party vendors and service providers to safeguard the bank’s interests.
- Risk Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance across retail banking activities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments to address legal and compliance issues promptly and effectively.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on changes in retail banking laws and regulations, providing timely updates to stakeholders.
- Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for employees on legal and compliance matters specific to retail banking.
- External Counsel Management: Manage relationships with external legal counsel to secure cost-effective and timely legal support.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management on legal and compliance matters and their resolution.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) and Master’s degree in law (LLM).
- 5-10 years of relevant legal experience in retail banking, with a proven track record of handling legal and compliance matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Willingness to travel as required to ensure compliance and provide legal
