Details of the Job/Internship
IDFC FIRST Bank is hiring a Deputy Legal Counsel with experience of 3–4 years to join their Retail Banking Legal department in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to the retail banking business.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with third-party vendors and service providers.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to identify risks and recommend mitigations.
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address legal and compliance issues.
- Monitor legal and regulatory changes and update stakeholders.
- Conduct employee training sessions on legal and compliance matters.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel.
- Prepare and submit reports to senior management on legal and compliance matters.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Master’s degree in Law.
- 3–4 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of retail banking laws and regulations in India.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently and in a team, and prioritize effectively.
- Willingness to travel as required.
