Details of the Job/Internship
IDFC FIRST Bank is hiring a Deputy Legal Counsel with experience of 3-4 years to join their Retail Banking Legal team in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to the retail banking business of IDFC FIRST Bank.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with third-party vendors and service providers.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to identify potential risks and provide recommendations to mitigate them.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance in all retail banking activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address legal and compliance issues.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations related to retail banking and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on legal and compliance matters related to retail banking.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and ensure timely and cost-effective legal support.
- Prepare and submit reports to senior management on legal and compliance issues and their resolution.
Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Law and preferably a Master’s in Law.
- 3-4 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of retail banking laws and regulations in India.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven track record of managing legal and compliance issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel as required.
