Details of the Job/Internship
Royal Enfield is hiring for the position of Deputy Manager Litigation with 5-7 years of experience to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Contract Lifecycle Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts in alignment with company guidelines and defined turnaround times (TATs).
- Conduct legal and commercial risk assessments; prepare deviation notes and advisory memos for internal stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Liaise with departments such as Manufacturing, Finance, Procurement, HR, and Product Development to understand project requirements and legal implications.
- Partner with business teams to enable compliant and commercially viable solutions.
- Regulatory & Legal Research
- Conduct in-depth legal research on laws and regulations applicable to the auto and manufacturing industries.
- Monitor regulatory updates and support compliance efforts.
- Legal Operations
- Maintain legal databases, contract repositories, and knowledge-sharing resources.
- Draft and regularly update standard contract templates for recurring business use.
- Dispute & Risk Management
- Handle dispute resolution matters including litigation and arbitration.
- Develop strategies for early conflict resolution and risk mitigation to reduce exposure and cost.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of legal officers to deliver high-quality legal support across the business.
Eligibility
- LL.B. degree (mandatory).
- 5–7 years of post-qualification experience, preferably as an in-house. counsel with a multinational company.
- Proficient in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
- Exposure to dispute resolution, including ADR methods.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Effective stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Tech-savvy; proficient in MS Office and open to using legal tech tools.
- Prior experience in the manufacturing or auto sector is a plus.
Salary/Stipend
