Details of the Job/Internship
Bajaj Finserv is hiring a Deputy Unit Manager – Legal with experience of 3–4 years to join their office in Pune. The role involves conducting audits of implementation of changes suggested by the legal team in loan collaterals, drafting and vetting documentation relating to consumer, retail, and SME lending, and advising on the fixed deposit business.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct audits of implementation of changes suggested by the legal team in loan collaterals.
- Draft, review, and negotiate loan and security documents relating to consumer loans, personal loans, and loans against property.
- Draft and review terms and conditions relating to fixed deposits and advise on queries concerning deceased claim settlements, and vet POAs and trust deeds for investment-related clauses.
- Structure customer journeys and loan documentation for lending through digital modes.
- Structure, draft, and negotiate product-specific documentation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements including interest subvention agreements, outsourcing, service provider, collaboration NDAs, escrow agreements, and documentation relating to digital initiatives.
- Implement standard templates for new products and improve templates for existing products.
- Draft and vet terms and conditions relating to promotional offers.
- Research and analyse legal and regulatory developments, assess their impact on products and services, and disseminate updates through legal notes and journals while aligning documents with regulatory changes.
- Coordinate with external law firms where specialised advice is required.
- Provide timely advice on legal and contractual issues to internal stakeholders and support senior lawyers in the team based on capability and performance.
Eligibility
- 3–4 years PQE, preferably in the finance industry or from a law firm.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating lending documentation.
- Must be conversant with laws and regulatory guidelines relating to the BFSI industry, including the IT Act, Aadhaar Act, data privacy laws, and the IBC Code.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Internet, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be a team player with ownership of assigned work.
- Should have worked in a process-oriented environment and be willing to take additional responsibilities.
- Should be able to support other teams, including working extended hours where required.
