Details of the Job/Internship

Alliance University is hiring a Director – CoE – Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) with extensive experience in academic IP management to lead its innovation and commercialization efforts from the Bangalore campus.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement institutional IP policies aligned with national frameworks.
• Define protocols for invention disclosure, IP ownership, and revenue sharing.
• Lead technology transfer, licensing, and commercialization strategies.
• Manage the university’s IP portfolio including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
• Build partnerships with industry for IP licensing and technology adoption.
• Oversee legal coordination with patent attorneys and law firms.
• Maintain IP databases and streamline management systems.
• Conduct IP training for faculty, researchers, and students.
• Support prior art searches, FTO analyses, and collaborative IP projects.
• Promote IP awareness and innovation across the university.

Eligibility

• Preferred: LL.B./LL.M. in IP Law.
• Alternative: Ph.D. in Science/Engineering with Diploma/Certificate in IP Law.
• Dual qualification in Law and Science/Technology is advantageous.
• Registered Indian Patent Agent (preferred).
• International IP certification (desirable).
• Demonstrated experience in academic IP management, patent prosecution, licensing, and commercialization.
• Strong understanding of research and innovation ecosystems.
