Details of the Job/Internship
The Coca-Cola Company is hiring a Director, Legal Counsel - INSWA with experience of 10+ years to join their office in Gurugram, Haryana, India.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead legal strategy and governance for strategic customer engagements and bottler relationships.
- Act as the primary lead for M&A, joint ventures, and strategic investments, including transaction structuring and regulatory approvals.
- Build and maintain an enterprise-wide competition and antitrust compliance framework.
- Provide counsel on diverse legal areas including contract, commercial, employment, environmental, and consumer protection laws.
- Oversee all stages of legal disputes and litigation, from initial investigation to final settlement or judgment.
- Manage and align external counsels for the Company and its Bottlers according to the overarching legal strategy.
- Enable corporate governance by providing guidance on the Code of Business Conduct, Anti-Bribery, and FCPA compliance.
- Support real estate matters, including leases, construction contracts, and environmental permits (PCB requirements).
- Conduct legal research on precedents to support case strategy and prepare high-level legal pleadings and petitions.
Eligibility
- Qualified lawyer with a degree in Law (LL.B).
- Minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience in legal advice, regulatory interpretation, and risk management.
- Proven track record in structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex legal contracts and policies.
- Experience in the FMCG industry or supporting commercial/customer operations is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to represent an organization in litigation, arbitration, or mediation before government agencies.
- Strong knowledge of Indian and regional laws, including Legal Metrology, Food Law, and Competition Law.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup (3 days onsite in Gurugram).
