Details of the Job/Internship
First Citizens India is hiring for the position of Director- Legal with 12-15 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Governance:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on all regulatory matters impacting the organization.
- Serve as the principal legal advisor to the India GCC leadership, ensuring alignment with global legal strategies.
- Monitor legislative changes and advise on potential legal risks and mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address legal risks and facilitate business operations.
- Coordinate with global legal teams to ensure consistency in policies and procedures.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel for specialized legal matters.
- Represent the India legal function in leadership meetings and strategic discussions.
Employment Law & HR Support:
- Partner with HR to ensure compliance with labor laws and workplace regulations.
- Provide legal guidance on employee relations, workplace policies, and conflict resolution.
- Support HR with sensitive matters such as terminations, internal investigations, and restructuring.
Contracts Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including service agreements and vendor MOUs.
- Manage the legal aspects of outsourcing, vendor partnerships, and technology agreements.
Dispute Resolution & Litigation Management:
- Handle legal disputes, pre-litigation matters, and external investigations involving the GCC.
- Collaborate with external legal firms to resolve litigation and provide strategic guidance.
Intellectual Property & Technology Law:
- Oversee IP-related matters, including protecting proprietary technologies, trademarks, and trade secrets.
- Advise on technology development, licensing agreements, and innovation-related legal risks.
Eligibility
- Education: LLB from a reputable law school. Additional certifications in corporate or technology law are advantageous.
- Experience: 12-15+ years of legal advisory experience, preferably in GCCs, financial services, or technology sectors.
- Expertise in contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and cross-border legal frameworks.
