Details of the Job/Internship

First Citizens India is hiring for the position of Director- Legal with 12-15 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities

Legal Advisory & Governance:

• Provide comprehensive legal advice on all regulatory matters impacting the organization.
• Serve as the principal legal advisor to the India GCC leadership, ensuring alignment with global legal strategies.
• Monitor legislative changes and advise on potential legal risks and mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address legal risks and facilitate business operations.
• Coordinate with global legal teams to ensure consistency in policies and procedures.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel for specialized legal matters.
• Represent the India legal function in leadership meetings and strategic discussions.

Employment Law & HR Support:

• Partner with HR to ensure compliance with labor laws and workplace regulations.
• Provide legal guidance on employee relations, workplace policies, and conflict resolution.
• Support HR with sensitive matters such as terminations, internal investigations, and restructuring.

Contracts Management:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including service agreements and vendor MOUs.
• Manage the legal aspects of outsourcing, vendor partnerships, and technology agreements.

Dispute Resolution & Litigation Management:

• Handle legal disputes, pre-litigation matters, and external investigations involving the GCC.
• Collaborate with external legal firms to resolve litigation and provide strategic guidance.

Intellectual Property & Technology Law:

• Oversee IP-related matters, including protecting proprietary technologies, trademarks, and trade secrets.
• Advise on technology development, licensing agreements, and innovation-related legal risks.

Eligibility

• Education: LLB from a reputable law school. Additional certifications in corporate or technology law are advantageous.
• Experience: 12-15+ years of legal advisory experience, preferably in GCCs, financial services, or technology sectors.
• Expertise in contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and cross-border legal frameworks.

Salary/Stipend
