Details of the Job/Internship

Whirlpool India is hiring a Director, Legal with experience of 12–16 years to join their office in Gurugram.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide empowering legal counsel on corporate matters and recognize operational risks.
• Lead and mentor a team of three Legal Counsels, focusing on career enhancement and execution.
• Develop and oversee strategic legal initiatives across all Indian regions (North, South, East, and West).
• Cultivate deep expertise in Environmental regulations, Labour laws, BIS, and Consumer Protection Laws.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials and regulatory authorities.
• Guide impactful litigation strategies for criminal and civil cases and coordinate with external counsel.
• Champion compliance efforts, conduct internal investigations, and report to the India Compliance Committee.
• Conduct regular training sessions to ensure the team adheres to in-house compliance policies.
• Monitor litigation progress and communicate updates to senior management to ensure transparency.

Eligibility

• Master’s or Graduate degree in Law.
• 12 to 16 years of post-qualification experience.
• Must have 4 years of experience in criminal courts.
• Must have 4 years of experience in either a law firm or a commercial corporate setting.
• Desirable but not essential: Prior experience in the FMCG or FMCD sectors.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to communicate with clarity.
