SMS-Magic is hiring a Director of Legal Operations – India with 10–12 years of experience to lead, streamline, and optimize all legal processes, workflows, and compliance activities within its Indian operations.
Role and Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end management of legal processes, including contract lifecycle, compliance tracking, and regulatory filings.
- Implement workflows and systems for review, approval, and storage of contracts and legal documents.
- Standardize and optimize contract templates and playbooks for various agreements.
- Lead contract automation initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with Indian laws such as the Companies Act, IT Act, DPDP Act, and labor regulations.
- Identify and mitigate legal and operational risks through robust policies and SOPs.
- Lead and mentor the legal operations team while collaborating with HR, finance, and business units.
- Evaluate and manage legal tech tools for document management, compliance, and automation.
- Conduct training programs on compliance, POSH, and company policies.
Eligibility
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized Indian university; LLM or MBA (Legal/Corporate) preferred.
- 10–12 years of experience in legal operations, corporate law, or compliance.
- Experience in SaaS, technology, or communications sectors preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Indian corporate, IT, telecom, employment, and data privacy laws.
- Hands-on experience with legal technology platforms and workflow tools.
