They undertake litigation, research and communications relating to forensics, torture, legal aid, mental health and death penalty.

Details of the Job/Internship

The National Law University, Delhi (‘University’) through Project 39A is seeking to engage for the positions of DIRECTOR on contractual basis at its campus in Dwarka, New Delhi.

Role and Responsibilities

• Reporting directly to the Executive Director.
• Assisting Executive Director in strategic planning, policy formulation, and day-to-day functioning of P39A.
• Provide academic leadership and strategic direction for the Centre’s research, outreach, and policy engagement.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations, including administration, budgeting, staffing, and project management.
• Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary research team and ensure high-quality research output.
• Represent the Centre in national and international forums and build networks with academia, civil society, and government institutions.
• Lead efforts to secure grants and funding from prominent national and international funding agencies.

Eligibility

• A postgraduate / doctoral degree in Law. 
• At least FIVE years of consistent, high-quality research experience in areas such as access to justice, legal aid, criminal justice administration, or allied fields. 
• A strong portfolio of peer reviewed publications in reputed journals. 
• Proven ability to lead research teams, manage institutional responsibilities, and monitor outcomes. 
• Demonstrated experience in drafting successful grant applications and securing competitive research funding.
