Bayslope Business Solutions is hiring a Docketing Paralegal with 5-6 years of experience to support U.S. and international patent matters.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage docketing of incoming correspondence from the USPTO, PCT, and foreign IP offices, and create or update case records and deadlines.
- Enter new matters, process transfers, update bibliographic details, audit records, and clear daily dockets
- Generate and circulate status and deadline reports for attorneys and management.
- Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and foreign associates to support U.S. and international patent filing and prosecution.
- Prepare and file new U.S. patent applications, ensuring all supporting forms and documents meet procedural requirements.
- Draft and process USPTO forms, declarations, assignments, and powers of attorney, and arrange required recordings.
- Maintain accurate case files and docket entries, ensuring compliance with firm and client guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits of docketing data and identify process improvement opportunities.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate, preferably in Intellectual Property or Legal Studies.
- 5-6 years of IP docketing experience in a law firm or corporate IP department.
- Knowledge of USPTO, PCT, and foreign patent procedures.
- Experience with IP docketing systems such as Foundation IP, CPI, Anaqua, or Patricia.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Preferred: Familiarity with global IP filing procedures, exposure to digital docketing workflows, and experience with technology-driven IP portfolios.
