Details of the Job/Internship
Wipro is looking for a candidate for the position of Employment Counsel.
Role and Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate will provide expert legal advice and guidance on a wide range of employment law matters.
- They will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with labour regulations and fostering a positive work environment for our employees.
- This position offers an opportunity to work closely with various departments within the organization and contribute to the company's strategic initiatives.
- Advise internal stakeholders on day-to-day and out-of-the-ordinary employee-related matters. This may include matters pertaining to disciplinary, behavioural, and performance issues.
- Work with internal teams such as HR, Compensation, and Talent Acquisition in formulating, reviewing, revising policies, and conducting training in accordance with the law.
- Liaise with external counsel on litigation about employees and strategize with the counsel to obtain the best possible outcome for Wipro.
- Own employee conciliations before the Labour authorities (this includes formulating an appropriate response for the labour authorities)
- Ensure that the company and vendor are aligned with the applicable labour laws and advise on matters such as CLRA, PF, EPS, Minimum Wages, etc.
- Work includes travelling across PAN India locations.
Eligibility
- Experience advising on employment-related issues in a corporate setting, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proven track record of managing complex legal matters and providing practical, business-oriented solutions.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving work environment, with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
