BlackRock is hiring for the position of Employment Legal, Director with 12+ years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on a wide range of employment law issues, including both contentious and non-contentious matters in India.
- Advise on employee relations topics such as investigations, performance management, disciplinary actions, redundancies, grievances, and negotiated exits.
- Support HR on compliance matters (e.g., POSH regulations) and employment-related regulatory requirements.
- Guide employment aspects of business transactions—mergers, acquisitions, outsourcing, insourcing, and entity establishment.
- Draft, review, and update employment contracts, termination letters, HR policies, and employee handbooks.
- Work with regional and global legal teams on cross-border employment issues and global initiatives like DEI and policy alignment.
- Engage and coordinate with external counsel on litigation and complex advisory matters.
- Identify and mitigate employment law risks in India and support broader risk management strategies.
Eligibility
- Qualified to practice law in India with 12+ years of specialized experience in employment/labor law.
- Strong command of Indian employment legislation and regulatory landscape.
- Experience in multinational companies or financial institutions is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage employment litigation and compliance issues independently.
